The Gettys‘ hymns are used increasingly both in contemporary and traditional circles, being included in most modern hymnbooks (with a number of these now listing “Getty” as the most-featured composers), while in the more contemporary church, more than 60 of their songs are featured on top 2,000 CCLI charts between the UK and USA. You can find sheet music for this song at CCLI or . I will leave you with my favorite line from the song, “Death is dead, love has won, Christ has conquered!” Amen. This, in turn, has gone a long way into making “See, What A Morning” an accepted “new” song in our congregation. In my church, we debuted this song during Easter but I soon realized that because of its “triumphant” nature and hi level of energy, the choir, the praise band, the orchestra just wanted to sing it.

The third verse is a response of praise as we realise the amazing consequence of Christ’s resurrection for our lives, drawing us into relationship with the triune God. I really wanted to convey the immediacy of the Easter morning experience, and how that morning changed history forever. Stuart: Keith sent me through this melody with some lyrical thematic ideas. Stuart and I have enjoyed writing story songs together, and we chatted and decided this would be a great melody for the Resurrection story. No power of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand Till He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.Keith: I wanted to write a triumphant melody, and as soon as I came up with this idea I heard ‘Resurrection’ – a song that could be sung on Easter morning or at the beginning of a time of worship, which excites us to the truth that Christ is risen.

No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath. There in the ground His body lay Stuart Townend, Keith Getty - In Christ Alone - Light of the world by darkness slain: Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave he rose again! And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me, For I am His and He is mine - Bought with the precious blood of Christ. In Christ alone! who took on flesh Fulness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones he came to save: Till on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied - For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song this Cornerstone, this solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
